Photos of Kambi Teso

Recently, I have been going up to Kambi Teso. Kambi Teso is a slum near Eldoret town where Open Arms sponsors a feeding program. There are over 200 children fed every Tuesday through Friday. At the moment, an ECD school (early childhood development - A Kenyan sort of preschool/kindergarten) is being built for the children. It is much needed since in Kenya you must complete ECD to move on, and many children don't have the funds to go to school. An American family kindly came for two weeks to help get the project started. So I have been up there with them taking photographs and loving on the children.

Just some more of the kids :)

These two are such goofs

first Kenya 2013 update

So this is awkward.... I don't post much on my blog. Obviously. But now that I am in Kenya again, I feel like I actually have something interesting to put up. So, for the two months that I will be here, I am going to try to be more consistent (internet allowing) in posting updates and pictures.

I arrived at Open Arms Kenya one week ago today. I can't believe it's been a week already! On Monday the first team arrives. Everyone is really busy here getting last minute preparations in place for them. Today is the first day I've really taken any pictures. I've just been trying to settle in and adjust to jet-lag. It's been so good to see all the kids again. And I got to meet the baby I sponsor, Michelle! She is adorable!

I'm not going to write much now... maybe I will later. But here are a few photos:

It's a bad photo, but it shows all the incoming rain!
